Rick Buckler, the musician for English rock band the Jam, has died.
He was 69.
Former , bandmate Paul Weller announced the news , in a Twitter post on Tuesday.
” I’m profoundly saddened by the announcement of Rick Buckler’s departure, and my sincere condolences go to his home at this difficult day,” Weller wrote.
” From our primitive foundations, the band evolved into the strong force that it became, Rick’s development as a musician, was like a vital part of that”.
” To all the bars and clubs we frequented as children, hoping to break records.” What a trip. We made things that were beyond our wildest desires, and what we created endures forever,” Weller continued.
The Jam were formed in Woking, Surrey, in 1972 while its three founders were in secondary school and went on to record a number of hits, including ,” That’s Entertainment”  , and ,” Town Called Malice” , , which have appeared on a number of film soundtracks in the ensuing decades as shorthand for early 1980s new wave.
The group released six full-length tracks before abruptly dissolving in 1982.
” I’m not the greatest in the world, but I did take a leaf out of Ringo Starr’s book” , , Buckler said in an interview with the Strange Brew. He became aware that the tune was the sun. None of us were particularly talented players in many ways, but I believe we were trying to be as creative as we could to ensure that we collaborated effectively as a channel.
Bruce Foxton,  , the Jam’s bass, said , he was “devastated to learn the very unfortunate information”.
” Rick was a great guy and a great musician, whose creative drum styles contributed to the development of our tracks. I’m glad we got to operate together as much as we did.
Russell Hastings, a bassist who performed with Buckler and Foxton, also , memorialized his original bandmate on social media.
” I’m am extremely saddened and shocked at the announcement of Rick Buckler’s passing”, he wrote. We were excellent friends and group members for about 25 years. Rick was adored by many and a loving, funny, and sympathetic man who also had a great home.
” Rick and myself had a long overdue lunch back in August last year” , , he said in a follow-up post. We laughed about the history and shared some of our emotions with the history, but most of all, we were glad to be chatting and smiling, which is how it all started numerous moons before. RIP my pal”.
No cause of death has been revealed, but , his administration firm and family , said he had faced” a little disease” prior to his death.
According to the company, Buckler “passed calmly on Monday night in Woking with family by his side” in a statement.
He was a “loving father, father and grandfather” who was “devoted to some” and will be “greatly missed”.
TMZ reported that , Buckler canceled a spoken-word tour , in the U. K. two weeks ago over heath problems.
After the Jam’s dissolution, Buckler continued playing tunes and building equipment. In 2015, he released an book,” That’s Entertainment: My Life In The Jam”.
The files are also selling, he told the Peculiar Brew,” It’s just that we’re still talking about it, and that people are still interested in it.” ” I have to squeeze myself every day and think well, wow”.
