Network star Joy Reid is on her manner out as MSNBC attempts to revamp its regular lineup.
The New York Times reports that Reid, a veteran community anchor who officially signed a new deal with Comcast-owned TV in 2024, will sponsor her final episode of The ReidOut this week. Her 7 p. m. night gambling will instead be filled by a panel display, anchored by the latest hosts of The Weekend: Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez.
Reid’s members did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment, while a system spokesperson declined to comment.
Reid is one of MSNBC’s most recognizable anchors, following her tenure as host of The Reid Report ( 2014-2015 ) and her morning talk show AM Joy ( 2016-2020 ), before landing a primetime slot with The ReidOut in 2020. She has since since developed a reputation as a steadfast critic of Donald Trump. During his first term, the New York Times called her” a lady of the opposition to his command,” and she is the author of The Man Who Sold America: Trump and the Unraveling of the American Story.
