Modern Feminism Makes Women Miserable

The monthly American Family Survey results have recently been analyzed by the Institute for Family Studies. It found that 37 % of conservative women between the ages of 18 and 40 claimed to be completely content with life. But only 12 % of liberal women that age were. That’s a startling gap, but it’s not an outlier finding. &nbsp,

In 2021, Columbia University faculty put out a review on melancholy among 12th grade, looking at information from 2005 to 2018. Over the course of the review, they discovered that “female liberals reported worse accepting symptom scores than all other groups.”

According to a professor at Penn State University, “politically conventional participants were considerably more optimistic and content with life than their progressive counterparts.”

A 2008 study in Psychological Science asked,” Why are liberals happier than progressives”? It cited a 2006 Pew survey that showed only 28 % of liberal Democrats and 47 % of conservative Republicans declared themselves “very happy.” &nbsp,

The Columbia scientists made the speculative assumption that political developments might have caused progressive depression. Republicans gained social power in the 2010s, including with the victory of then-President Donald Trump. Global warming, structural racism, and widespread sexism, according to the researchers, “became essential features of social discourse.”

The idea is that progressives are depressed because they are so concerned about the issues facing the world. &nbsp,

While that does appear noble, stressing out about something that you can’t handle isn’t a virtue. It can lead to “learned powerlessness”. If people believe their decisions won’t improve items, they usually give up or create worse options. No wonder do researchers frequently link despair and learned helplessness.

While this is a factor, there’s a deeper reason. &nbsp,

Feminists previously argued for similar opportunity in voting, schooling and the office. That happened. But second-wave women went further. They criticized faith and marriage as resources of the sexism. They didn’t see babies as a source of deep significance and accomplishment, but rather as an obstacle to career success. &nbsp,

Third- and fourth-wave women went beyond that. Some contend that societal expectations are the only factor in how men and women turn out. These concepts have advanced to the point where leftists then assert that men may be women. Why some males would give up the patriarchy’s energy is not fully understood. &nbsp,

Particularly on the left, these ideas have a lot of historical energy. As a result, progressives are less likely to get married, get to church or had children. But these decisions haven’t brought happy independence. Only the same. &nbsp,

According to Brad Wilcox’s text” Get Married,” married men and women are roughly twice as likely to be very glad as their individual counterparts. An obvious issue in that is sadness. According to Wilcox, one single parents are more than twice as likely as married people to say they’re always or nearly always unhappy. Generally, one individuals found area and link in a chapel or synagogue. However, progressives are less likely to go to spiritual service. &nbsp,

What current liberals erroneously claim is the patriarchy if people want to be happy.
