DHAKA: Nahid Islam, the data adviser to the time authorities of Bangladesh, resigned on Tuesday from the government led by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, to meet politics.
He is one of the essential student officials who spearheaded the action to remove previous prime minister Sheikh Hasina from power in August of last year. He is a student leader who took command of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology
Nahid Islam resigned from the government to join the new social party, which will be launched on February 28. He resigned after submitting his departure to the Chief Adviser.
A great march on February 28 at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka will be held in memory of the students and those who organized the movement to overthrow Sheikh Hasina.
Nahid Islam is expected to lead a group, however, the title has not been disclosed already.
After months of opposition and violence that resulted in over 600 murders, a student-led action ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in August 2024. Hasina, 76, fled to India, and an interim federal led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus was immediately formed.
Both countries are discussing border protection, and since then, there have been numerous attempts by people trying to cross the border between India and Bangladesh. Numerous problems have been discussed by senior officials from India and Bangladesh.
One of the officials who led the extensive demonstrations against Sheikh Hasina was Nahid Islam.
The opposition has also voiced opposition to violence against minorities since Yunus ‘ appointment, calling him a” Minority killer,” or” Hindu killer Yunus.”
A group of activists from the Awami League and its sister organizations started chanting the name of the Bangladesh Chief Advisor before on February 13.
The protest chanted”, Step along, Yunus, we want fairness, we want Sheikh Hasina”.
One of the protestors claimed that Dr. Younus is a criminal and illegal man who could impose rule with the aid of terrorists. According to our Constitution, Sheikh Hasina is still the PM of Bangladesh. They removed her ( from her post ) with the help of terrorists. But future period, we want votes. Sheikh Hasina may be re-elected by the electorate.
