On Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump made significant changes to the American immigration system, suggesting that he would soon begin offering$ 5 million “gold accounts” to wealthy foreigners in trade for U.S. citizenship.
The president made the remarks at a signing ceremony held in the Oval Office, where he also instructed the Commerce Department to launch a Section 232 research into copper goods.
” We’re going to get selling a golden card”, the president told reporters, adding that the proposed programme was build in as soon as two months. ” We’re going to be putting a price on that card of about$ 5 million, and that’s going to give you green card privileges”.

” The , gold , card , will bring in with it people who create jobs”, he continued. ” It’s a path to membership for people”.
The president claimed the system may take “wealthy people” into the region.
” They’ll be prosperous and they’ll become successful, and they’ll be spending a lot of money and paying a lot of income and employing a lot of people, and we think it’s going to be really successful”, Trump stated.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who had joined Trump for the service, said the program may change the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, which he claimed was “full-on drivel”. Europeans must give$ 1 million to open a business that generates at least 10 new jobs as part of the Immigrant Investor Program.
It’s unclear whether the administration is formally alter or terminate the program, which was established by Congress in 1990.

Lutnick also made an effort to avoid any potential negative publicity from the announcement, focusing on how Trump’s plan could effectively sell unsavory individuals continuous U.S. residency with the appropriate funding to use the program.
” They’ll have to go through screening, of training. We’ll make certain they’re great world-class world people”, he told reporters. ” They can participate in America, and we can use that cash to reduce our gap”.
