A Shanghai male lost around$ 28, 000 after being tricked by an Artificial Intelligence girl. The guy was led to believe that he was dating a woman by the name of” Mr Jiao” for a long-distance. Little did he know it was all an idea.
According to state broadcaster CCTV, scammers conned the man by sending 200, 000 yuan ( Rs 24, 02, 632 ) to his girlfriend for a business venture and to pay for a family member’s healthcare expenses.
According to CCTV, the criminals made false recognition records and medical records to further their fraud.
A scam team sent videos and pictures that were all created by AI or combined with multiple images, according to police findings that were cited by CCTV.
” Throughout the process, ( the victim ) Mr. Liu never met Ms. Jiao in person”, the report stated.
Images of a person were viewed on CCTV footage in a variety of settings, including one with a paint job and another on an industrial street.
Globally, extremely complex deceptive schemes have become more sophisticated as a result of the development of AI technologies that can produce reasonable words, images, and live video.
Online connections who promise loving relationships when asking for money are subject to a warning from US social media giant Meta, which advised web users earlier this month.
