South Carolina’s Republican senator Joe Wilson proposed to present new$ 250 dollar bill featuring, President Donald Trump, a move that would render Trump the first life current or former president to appear on US money, as the Newsweek reported.
Wilson cited financial problems, which he attributed to” Bidenflation”, as a important cause for the request. He claimed that Americans were forced to carry more money during the former president Joe Biden‘s supervision due to inflation. Wilson promoted the request on social media, saying,” Most useful bill for most important President”!
” Bidenflation” is a term used by critics to describe the inflation surge under Biden, which peaked at 9.1 % in mid-2022—the highest rate since the early 1980s.
The Biden administration attributed the raise to global issues like supply-chain problems, the Covid-19 crisis, and the conflict in Ukraine.
But, critics pointed to Biden’s laws, including increased government spending and power laws, as contributing factors.
Wilson, known for his outspoken criticism of Democratic leaders —including his” You lie”! explosion during Barack Obama‘s 2017 State of the Union address—shared a mock-up of the proposed act featuring a stern-looking Trump.
No date has been set for its attention, and the policy has not yet been officially introduced in Congress. If approved, the$ 250 bill would become the highest-denomination US banknote in circulation.
Wilson, who sits on the House Armed Services Committee, has just voiced strong views on global problems, including calling for free elections in Georgia and supporting sanctions against Iran. He has just called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “war criminal.”
