On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump held his first cabinet meet at the White House. The appointment turned into a lengthy question-and-answer program with writers, lasting more than an hour.
Trump sat with his case and Elon Musk, who was wearing a “tech help” T-shirt. He spoke on different topics, including government spending, emigration, the market, and the war in Ukraine.
Here are some important insights from Donald Trump’s first Cabinet meet:
Musk claims that DOGE is “tech help.”
Elon Musk was one of the first advisers to address the cabinet meeting while wearing a dark” Make America Great Once” cover.
His remarks came shortly after a letter from the management advising federal departments and agencies to make for workplace reductions. The federal government has more than 2 million people, many of whom are democratic civil servants.
Musk downplayed DOGE’s part in state, explaining that its primary focus is updating government systems.
Trump replaced the US Digital Service with DOGE on his first time in office, moving its staff members to the new division.
According to Musk,” I actually just contact myself humble technical support these that, as crazy as it sounds, that is almost a precise description of the work that the DOGE team is doing: helping to repair the government computer systems.”
Trump speaks about government decisions
When asked which government office or government members were the most immune to his plan changes, Trump said,” So much, I’m content with all of those options”.
He made it clear that some organizations cooperate better than another. He especially praised Elon Musk, who is not a government representative, and secretary of state Marco Rubio.
Trump claimed that his presidency is attempting to reduce state size. He stated,” We want to have a balanced budget within a reasonable short amount of time, which could be by the following year or perhaps the following year.”
Zelensky will attend the White House
Volodymyr Zelensky, president of Ukraine, may attend the White House on Friday, according to Trump.
Details are undetermined, but he claimed the US and Ukraine would agree to a vitamins offer. He described it as a way for the US to “get our income up” from the assistance given to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion.
” We’re going to find a lot of money in the future, and I think that’s suitable, because we have taxpayers that shouldn’t be footing the bill”, Trump said. ” It’s all been worked out”.
Zelensky has called the offer initial and said he wants more agreements, including surveillance offers.
When asked about providing security guarantees, Trump said the US would not do so, arguing that Europe may get on that role.
Trump makes remarks on potential case disputes with Musk’s DOGE.
Trump backed Elon Musk and the DOGE, which are in charge of reducing national saving and hiring.
He dissuaded speculation about any disputes between Musk and other government users. ” They have a lot of respect for Elon and that he’s doing this, and some disagree a little bit”, he said. ” But I will tell you for the most part I think one’s no only glad, they’re thrilled”.
He asked case individuals to speak up if they were unsatisfied, but no one did.
Musk referred to Expand as a method used by federal agencies to stop fraud. He acknowledged that there had been errors, noting that efforts to stop Ebola had unintentionally been canceled before being corrected. ” But when we make blunders, we’ll fix it quite quickly”, Musk said.
Federal employees and career reductions
Trump emailed federal workers to ask them to record five things they had done in the previous year in a letter that Musk had sent to them, and asked them to do so in a message that Trump might send to them. Trump claimed that the cupboard backs the decision.
He speculated, without evidence, that some of the approximately one million employees who did not respond “don’t arise”.
” Maybe they’re going to be gone”, he said.
Trump claimed that a search is being made to find those who haven’t responded. In situations where people are stealing secrets, he continued,” We’re being a little more clinical.”
He urged other government individuals to conduct equivalent inspections of their institutions. He even suggested that the Environmental Protection Agency, led by Lee Zeldin, may see a 65 per cent decrease in its labor.
Trump plans Union taxes
Trump made it known that he would impose a 25 % tariff on goods from the EU.
” We’ll get announcing it quite soon”, he said. It will be 25 % generally speaking, and that will be on all other issues, including vehicles.
He criticized the EU for enforcing restrictions on access to American agricultural items and vehicles. ” They’ve really taken advantage of us”, he said.
Trump was even questioned about tariffs on Mexico and Canada. After conversations with both nations, he had formerly delayed implementing them by 30 days.
” April 2, the taxes go on”, he said. Not all of them, but many of them. And I think that’s gonna get amazing”.
