Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received shouts, pleasantries, and a$ 3.3 billion borrowing in London only one day after their obscene fight with Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
Zelenskyy was physically welcomed by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer outside of 10 Downing Street, where he reiterated the country’s unwavering aid for Ukraine.
As spectators applauded, Starmer said,” That is the people of the United Kingdom coming out to show how much they support you and how much they support Ukraine.” ” We will be with you and Ukraine for as long as it takes.”
The officials then agreed to support Ukraine’s military, which will be funded by earnings generated by frozen Russian assets, with a$ 3.3 billion deal.
Zelenskyy declared on X, thanking the UK for its ongoing support, that” this is true justice—the some who started the war must be the one who paid.”
American politics from the fury of Washington
Zelenskyy’s anxious visit to Washington, where he, Trump, and Vice President JD Vance fought head-to-head in a heated argument inside the Oval Office, stood in stark contrast to the warm welcome in London.
Apparently, the conflict was caused by Trump’s anger over Zelenskyy’s previous encounters with Democratic leaders and his first reticence to sign a joint US-Ukraine agreement on rare earth materials. Trump accused Zelenskyy of being “disrespectful” to the US, and Vance objected to Ukraine’s ongoing needs for military assistance.
After the debate reached a shouting match, Zelenskyy was reportedly ordered to leave by Trump.
A tactical move by the government
Zelenskyy’s London browse was much more effective despite the political repercussions in Washington. The recently signed English agreement strengthens Ukraine’s ability to defend itself, as well as establishes a precedent for using Soviet military property to finance the conflict.
Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with King Charles at Sandringham as part of his political excursion, which includes meetings at a summit on European security. However, his warm embrace in the UK sends a clear communication following the stormy White House experience: While Trump may be pulling ahead, Britain is standing solid with Ukraine.
