In his parliamentary handle on Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced the renaming of a wildlife refuge in honor of Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old lady who was killed in Texas last season.
Trump introduced Alexis Nungaray, Jocely n’s mother, at the joint session of Congress, which was the occasion for the tribute. A 34, 000-acre shelter for all of God’s animals on the top of the Gulf of America, a immaculate, peaceful shelter across Galveston Bay, is located where Jocelyn lived in Houston. Alexis, I recently fully renamed that refuge in honor of your lovely daughter, Jocelyn,” Trump said.
After allegedly meeting two men, Franklin Pea, 26, and Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 22, who are both now facing death charges, Jocelyn was killed on June 17, 2023. She was strangled to death, according to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, and a neighborhood native discovered her brain.
According to Lt. Hope of Houston, Jocelyn met the two males after escaping her mother’s house that night. According to the allegations, the suspects allegedly asked for directions before leading her to the gate where she was killed before heading for a 7-Eleven convenience business.

On June 20, Martinez-Rangel and Pea were detained at their room. According to court records, they are still being held in custody and each are being held on a$ 10 million bond.
Kim Ogg, the district attorney for Harris County, confirmed in December that the prosecution may seek the death penalty for both offenders. Ogg claimed that” Jocely n’s murder was as vile, brutal, and senseless as any case I have ever been a district attorney.” Knowing that these two guys were around improperly and, had they been detained after being captured at the border, they would never have had the chance to death Jocelyn and obliterate the future of her family made things worse.
