
Men with a , Michigan Army National Guard , and in , Grayling  will quickly leave the , U.S. to invest about a month disarming bombs in the , Middle East.
The Guard’s 745th Ordnance Company is preparing to deploy to assist Operation Spartan Shield, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
These men will be supporting Operation Spartan Shield throughout the Middle East and the United States, to improve security relationships and increase partner power, according to Maj.  , Megan Breen, captain of the 507th Engineer Battalion, Maj. Their goal is to conduct training with partner countries while securely identifying, disarming, and disposing of dangerous explosive products.
Prior to their departure, the company’s men gathered on Tuesday at the Grayling Army Airfield Armory with their families and friends. The Guard did not give information about the company’s exact departure date or the number of members.

The 745th Ordnance Company has made its third deployment since September 11th, and it is also its second since June 2020 when it was deployed to the U.S. Central Command Theater to help Operation Spartan Shield and Inherent Resolve.
Operation Spartan Shield is intended to “maintain a , U. S.  , martial position in the region to develop relationships and build companion capacity,” according to the U. S. Army.
The explosive ordnance disposal vision not only ensures the protection of the region’s U.S. and partner country military businesses, but also ensures the protection of the native population, according to Breen.
