Vice President JD Vance wants a boundary wall that covers the entire 2, 000-mile southern border to be in place by President Donald Trump’s next term.
Vance traveled to the small, rural town of Eagle Pass, Texas on Wednesday evening to support Trump‘s win message to Congress the day before, and he also provided a fresh perspective. Biden-era border crisis was a far-off place.
At a press conference only steps from the global boundary between Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, Vance stated,” The mayor’s hope is that by the end of the term, we will construct the whole border wall.”

Since becoming vice president in January, Trump has assumed a more significant role in public policy issues by tying him in with the southern border.
Vance’s walls reply came after a helicopter flew along the boundary wall, which he admired during a briefing before the press event.
We flew the aircraft over here, and we saw a significant portion of the border wall. I was like,” Is that the boundary wall of the federal government?” And they said,” Well, it was ordered during the first Trump administration that Joe Biden wouldn’t let us actually build it,” Vance remarked.

Trump’s 2016 national campaign included the boundary wall, but less so during his 2024 plan.
Vance took a helicopter about 60 miles south of Eagle Pass on a Wednesday night flight from Washington to Del Rio, Texas, to show him the distance of the borders in this area.

Gov. Eagle Pass and the vice chairman sat down for a personal roundtable in Eagle Pass. Governor Rolando Salinas, Mayor of Eagle Pass, Attorney General Ken Paxton, National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez, and Attorney General Greg Abbott (R-TX ).
With his returning to the Mexico border, just a few hundred foot behind him, Vance spoke in front of two armored military cars in a safe outdoor environment. In a huge industry that was close to the Rio Grande, Secret Service agents sat atop cargo ship vessels that surrounded an enclosed space. At the gate, six Border Patrol mounted agencies watched the event closely.
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX ), who represents both border towns and an 800-mile stretch of the southern border, traveled with Vance. Gonzalez described Vance’s decision to visit this particular stretch of global border as “grateful.”
The Border Patrol’s lowest level since 1967 was the decrease in immigration detention made in February for those who had crossed the southern border illegally. The illegal immigration decline occurred just days after Trump took office, and he took more than a few executive orders that stymied border security and sent illegal immigrants to be deported. The steps put an end to immigration and won Republicans a significant majority in Trump’s presidency.
Trump praised a 95 % reduction reduction in illegal immigrant arrests at the U.S. Mexico border in his speech on Tuesday evening. He also pledged to pursue all illegal immigrants who have targeted Americans in the United States.
Abbott made the revelation at a conservative think tank conference in Austin, Texas last month that the number of illegal border crossings in Eagle Pass had fallen from thousands of people per day to very few in the quarter since Trump took the oath of office.

Previous Ohio lawmaker Vance has recently taken on more issues and expanded his collection, including his trip to the southern boundary on Wednesday.
Vance attacked the international leader for allegedly allowing Ukraine to receive its billions of dollars in aid during last year’s battle with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.
After losing$ 100 million in federal grant funding, which Catholic charities were given to assist illegal immigrants at the border, Vance waded into religious matters and criticized the Catholic Church and alleged bishops for being more “worried about their bottom line.”
Trump just requested Vance to attend the Munich Security Conference in Germany as his administration’s face, where Vance criticized European allies for not doing more to defend free conversation.
