According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, two people have been detained and arraigned for their roles in the infamous “taylor Swift” hacking circle that extorted roughly 1, 000 music cards, the majority of which were for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
A pair of StubHub , independent contractors working for a Kingston, Jamaica-based third-party company called Sutherland, allegedly stole the seat Websites from Katz’s office, and sent them emails to their co-conspirators in Queens.
Between June 2022 and July 2023, they allegedly raked in around$ 635, 000 from exploiting a flaw to get 993 cards and then resell them on StubHub.
The crime band even increased tickets for Adele and Ed Sheeran music, NBA activities, and the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, according to the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.
On suspicion of grand burglary in the second level, crime in the third degree, and system tampering in the first and third levels, Tyrone Rose, 20, of Kingston, Jamaica, and Shamara Simmons, 31, of Jamaica, Queens, were detained and arraigned last year.
Rose and an unidentified companion worked for Sutherland in Jamaica. In Queens, Simmons co-starred with an unnamed friend who had passed away.
If found guilty of the most serious matter, the men could receive a statement of three to fifteen years. On Friday, they will be up in court.
According to the district attorney, these accused attempted to gain from Taylor Swift’s concert tour and various high-profile events, the city lawyer claimed.
