As anti-Israel protesters occupied the Milstein Center for the next year in a row, a fake bomb danger from Barnard College on Wednesday evening forced students to evacuate. More than 50 Police officers in riot products arrived as more than 200 protesters demanded to leave the area.
The demonstration was a part of continuous demonstrations that demanded the restoration of two students who had been expelled for disruptive a class in contemporary Israel by waving racist flyers. A poster featuring Dean of Individuals Leslie Grinage, an old-fashioned” Wanted” flyer, was hung by protesters to accuse her of expelling pro-Palestinian students in the west. On the house’s front, a crude image of Barnard President Laura Rosenbury was also displayed.
As officers attempted to disperse the crowd, kids began chanting the words” NYPD, KKK, they are all the same,” according to New York Post. After the NYPD removed protesters from the yard, many people remained on the school yard and yelled” No fairness, no peace.”
Some kids refused to leave despite receiving numerous instructions, leading to numerous prosecutions. The NYPD announced that the weapon danger had been looked into and cleared shortly before 8 p.m.
In an earlier contact, Barnard College had condemned the problems. The statement read,” We are committed to pursuing our intellectual quest, and any deviation from that objective may be tolerated.” The school did not respond to the weapon risk in any further detail.
