US President Donald Trump on Sunday intensified his condemnation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, over their uncomfortable Oval Office meeting next month, accusing him of being “ungrateful” and claiming that Ukraine took US support “like chocolate from a girl” during Joe Biden’s president.
” He’s a clever man, and he’s a strong guy”. Trump commented about Zelenskyy. ” He took cash out of this nation, under Biden, like candy from a child. It was so easy”, Trump stated during his Sunday discussion with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News.
” With that same attitude. I really don’t believe he’s pleased. We gave him 350 billion and he is talking about the fact that they have fought and they have this bravery”, Trump added.
The Republican senator more emphasised his part in providing Javelin anti-tank arms to Ukraine, asserting that the ongoing fight would have been prevented had he been in business when it commenced in 2022.
” All he ( Zelenskyy ) had to do is say ( to Europe ), you got to stay even with us ( the US)… We’re not in danger, they ( Europe ) are… So they’re paying all this money to Russia, and we’re in there for$ 350 billion”, he explained.
Recently, Trump had ordered a pause on all military aid to Ukraine, escalating tensions between Washington and Kyiv just weeks after a heated Oval Office fight with Zelenskyy.
The move properly halts the distribution of billion in US ammunition, leaving Ukraine ambiguous about its ability to sustain its defence against Russia.
When Bartiromo questioned Trump about abandoning Zelenskyy before finalising a materials deal, asking:” Are you comfortable with that, the truth you walked aside and Ukraine does not live”?
Trump responded:” Well, it may not live anyways. But, you know, we have some faults with Russia. You know, it takes two”.
She pressed farther:” But is there anything else you want to suggest to the critics who say you chose a part in the Ukraine-Russia tale– and that’s Russia. Because, you know, you called Zelenskyy a tyrant and you had the fight]in the Oval Office ]”.
Trump avoided addressing the query immediately, maintaining that “nobody has been tougher on Russia than Donald Trump. Anyone. And they know that, they know that. Just look at the items I just told you. The network – I stopped it”.
