A high school track and field function in Virginia took an unsportsmanlike turn when a skater was struck in the head with a stick mid-race.
Kaelen Tucker, a junior at Brookville High School, was competing in the 4×200 meter relay during the Virginia High School League ( VHSL ) Class 3 State Indoor Championships at Liberty University on Friday, March 7 when the incident took place. Tucker was running the next leg of the switch when she attempted to pass a company from Circuit Norcom High School.
According to Tucker, the various runner had been bumping her shoulder as they approached a graph. As she eventually moved onward, she immediately felt a strong pain in her head.
” When we got to the slope, she kept bumping me in my shoulder, and when we got off the slope, I suddenly passed her—that was when she hit me with the baton”, Tucker recalled.
The effects forced Tucker to prevent running. She was afterwards evaluated by a physician, who diagnosed her with a trauma and a conceivable bone bone, according to WSLS 10.
Adding to the heat fight, Tucker’s mom stated that neither the opposing skater nor the manager offered an apology following the incident.
It remains unclear whether Tucker may seek any legal action.
