NEW DELHI: West Asia planner Waiel Awwad expressed his views on the Muslim media reports of Jaffar Express train strike in Balochistan.
He said,” Balochistan Liberation Army has claimed the kidnapping of a Muslim train with more than 100 men. They have been releasing the children and the elderly person and are negotiating with the Pakistani government. Balochistan feels that Pakistan has occupied and annexed Balochistan territory into Pakistan after the Partition. They believe that they have been oppressed. All the tyranny of the Baloch individuals led to their battle against the Pakistan Army”.
He further added,” There is a call by the Baloch movement all over the world to join the demonstration on 28 March to fight against the Pakistan authority. There are some markets of flames. Pakistan military is using robots and military power”.
Explaining the probable causes for the assault, Awwad highlighted how since 1947 Balochistan has been struggling for Independence and over the course of centuries, the Baloch people are suffering from enforced kidnappings, illegal deaths, amongst other troubles at the hands of the military.
Pakistan local press, before on Tuesday, reported that the Jaffar Express station was on its way from Quetta in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when it came under intense blasting in Balochistan.
Over 450 people and workers are feared to have been taken prisoner, local media reported.
The Balochistan state has imposed evacuation procedures and all organizations have been mobilised to deal with the situation, authorities director Shahid Rind said, according to the Dawn.
As per ARY News, the drivers of the coach sustained serious injuries. Pakistan’s Samaa Television said that according to Railway officers, no phone has been established with the 450 people and workers aboard the nine-coach Jaffar Express. The coach departed from Quetta at 9 am.
