About 300 migrants have been detained at the U. S. marine base since President Donald Trump took office. Most of those housed at the bottom had serious legal histories, group connections, or were ordered to remain deported by federal courts.

Most of the workers being held at the bottom had already been deported to Venezuela. The remaining 40 refugees were sent to an ICE hospital in Louisiana.
The Washington Examiner reached out to the Department of Homeland Security for farther remark and to inquire about whether more workers would be sent to Guantanamo Bay.
Guantanamo Bay can hold up to 2, 500 individuals in its migrant detention page. The migratory services are independent from the more well-known criminal detention features.

The workers taken to the bottom were flown in on military plane, a procedure that drew criticism due to its high cost. Those never deported were flown back to the U. S. on ICE atmosphere, a much less expensive alternative.
Guantanamo Bay had been formerly cleared out in late February when 177 of the 178 immigrant prisoners were flown to Venezuela after conversations with Caracas.
