Hamish Falconer, a British political under-secretary and Labour MP, responded to subsequent conversations on Jammu and Kashmir in the British House of Commons by saying that “it is not for the UK to offer a remedy or work as a mediator.” He defended the British government, saying:” The ( UK) govt’s position is that it is for India and Pakistan to find a lasting political solution for Kashmir, taking into account the wishes of Kashmiris. (… ) We recognize that there are issues with human rights in both India-administered Kashmir and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.”
In less than two months, British MPs led by PoK-origin Labour MP Tahir Alihave held two conversations in the House of Commons on Jammu and Kashmir, which criticized India “for” numerous human rights violations in J&, K.
