Vance admits Musk made ‘mistakes’ in federal layoffs after intense Cabinet meeting

Elon himself has said that occasionally you do things, you make it right, and therefore you correct it. In an interview with NBC News, Vance stated,” I’m accepting of errors. &nbsp,

Additionally, I believe you must immediately right those errors. However, I’m also acutely aware of the fact that there are many great employees at the government and that many of them are doing a good job. And we want to eliminate what doesn’t work while preserving as much of what works in state as possible,” he continued. &nbsp,

In an effort to reduce the federal government, the Trump administration’s recently established Department of Government Efficiency, or Expand, has conducted numerous bulk firings of governmental employees. Some have expressed concern that the widespread layoffs are immoral, leading to more employment, and impairing the performance of key government agencies.

DOGE has cut back on staff at numerous different organizations, including the Internal Revenue Service, Central Intelligence Agency, the Interior Department, and the Interior Department. Some national employees have been described as “fraudsters” who cannot be trusted to perform their jobs, according to Musk.

When asked about Musk’s opinions, Vance responded,” I think some people are obviously collecting a check and not doing a task. How many people, then? In a national labor of 3 million, I’m not sure whether that number is” a few thousand or much more.”

” How significant the issue is, it is a problem when people are living off the compassion of the American tax in a legal service position and not doing the person’s company,” Vance said. That doesn’t change the fact that you do own a lot of excellent civil servants who are engaged in significant work.

He continued,” But I believe the majority of those outstanding civil servants would believe that we want to be given the power to accomplish our jobs.” We don’t want someone who doesn’t show up five times a week to make it more difficult for us to accomplish what we need to do.

Following reports of a cooked Cabinet meeting where Musk and many Cabinet members exchanged threats to cut the bureau, Vance’s comments come. &nbsp,

For example, Musk claimed Marco Rubio, the state department’s secretary of state, had not cut sufficient staff, according to the New York Times. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Musk officially exchanged a number of emails about whether DOGE attempted to employ air traffic controllers at the Federal Aviation Administration.
