Calhoun was mistaken about how he portrayed slavery and how it was important for a country’s financial success. Such financial growth was previously witnessed in America until the centuries following the abolishment of slavery. However Schumer and his fellow Democrats today exhibit the same proud sense of entitlement, the same justification for exploitation, and the same pretentiousness for denying others the fruits of their labor as they did in Calhoun.
