A post that was “ridiculous, false, and academically poor” was called by the French embassy in Dhaka, which claimed to back Mohammad Yunus-led Bangladesh interval government’s criticism of US intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard’s policy of persecution of minorities.
How absurd, unfounded, and academically weak declaration @kawsarc @mainul_haque @carmel_trish? wrote the France embassy in response to a post.
Manoj Rawat, a former Navy established, claimed that the Yunus government is in favor of Gabbard’s statement regarding the murder of Hindus in Bangladesh by sharing a screenshot of the European embassy’s statement in his post on X.
He added that it appears as though France’s Indo-French Strategic Partnership is merely a firm tactic to win lucrative defense deals from India.
In a post on X, he wrote,” Time to call out the French mayhem in the sub-continent.”
What Bangladesh said in response to Gabbard’s censure
Bangladesh released a speech in opposition to Gabbard’s assertions, calling them “misleading and damaging” to the country’s reputation.
Bangladesh’s interim authorities stated in a statement that” this statement is misleading and damaging to the image and reputation of Bangladesh, a country whose conventional practice of Islam has been renownedly equitable and quiet, and has made impressive strides in its fight against fanaticism and terrorism.”
” Gabbard’s comments are not based on any specific allegations or proof.” They use a broad and unjustifiable brush to paint an entire nation. Bangladesh has faced challenges from extremism, like many other nations, but it has consistently worked with the US, including law enforcement, social reforms, and other counterterrorism initiatives. Bangladesh is” strongly opposed” to any attempts to “link” the nation to any kind of” Islamist caliphate,” the statement continued.
Bangladesh urged Gabbard to base her remarks on “actual knowledge” when discussing sensitive topics, warning that such remarks could bolster negative stereotypes. Political leaders and public figures should base their statements on actual facts, especially those involving the most sensitive issues, and take care not to spread harmful stereotypes, fan fears, and even stoke sectarian tensions, according to the statement.
US is “deeply concerned about Bangladesh’s minority population persecution,” says Tulsi.
Later, Gabbard claimed that the US was deeply concerned about Bangladesh’s minority population and that the Trump administration was determined to end” Islamist terrorism” on a global scale. She noted that PM Modi also took this threat seriously and that the two leaders would collaborate to find and combat it.
The US government, President Trump, and his administration have been deeply concerned about the long-term unfortunate persecution, killing, and abuse of religious minorities like Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and others, according to Gabbard, who spoke to NDTV World.
She compared the idea of an” Islamic Caliphate” and how global extremist groups and organizations sought to achieve this. She continued,” People of any other religion, other than the one that they find acceptable, and they choose to carry this out with terror and very violent ways and means,” adding,” The threat of Islamist terrorists and the global effort of different terror groups are routed in the same ideology and objective.
Her remarks are a clear condemnation of the Biden administration-backed interim dispensation in Dhaka. In her meeting with Singh, Gabbard reaffirmed the growing strength of the bilateral defence partnership between India and the US, drawing inspiration from the joint statement released following the recent Modi-Trump meeting in Washington, while placing an emphasis on sharing intelligence.
