'Pee in cup': Jasmine Mooney claims she was forced into a pregnancy test while being held in ICE guardianship, but she is now barred from the US after a 12-day confinement.
Jasmine Mooney claims she was forced into a pregnancy test while being held in ICE guardianship, but she is now barred from the US after a 12-day confinement.

For American actress Jasmine Mooney, who was detained for nearly two weeks by US immigration officials at the San Ysidro border passing earlier this month, a simple card program turned into a labor of love.
Hart, 35, who appeared in the film American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, intended to start a selling career with a startup focused on health and wellness. Instead of letting her through a few slight difficulties, she was informed that her work permit application had been rejected and that she should have applied for it at a US embassy. She was taken into custody by immigration and customs enforcement ( ICE ) instead of being able to withdraw her application and travel home.
    Detention and chains
The original performer described the experience as agonizing. Mooney recalled that” They say,” Arms on the roof.” Before being shackled to an ICE detention facility near San Diego, she spent two days sleeping on a bed and a fiberglass cover in a holding body at the border station.
She said,” They put you in chains.” When I realized that they were boarding me into a true jail, I thought.
Her situation highlights the shifting immigration laws in the US that have caused an increase in border suspensions. Similar incidents have occurred, including two European visitors detained at the same borders cross before being deported and a German citizen who was detained in Boston.
    Visa difficulties
Mooney was requesting a TN card, which allows Mexican and American professionals to temporarily work in the US. She had submitted an initial application the year before, but because of missing letter on the paperwork, she was denied. After receiving a second chance, her immigration was voided at the end of November because of legal issues and concerns about one of her employers, a business selling hemp-based products.
Mooney tried again because she claimed that Indians working in Southern California frequently apply for visa at San Francisco. But, Leonard DM Saunders, a lawyer for immigrants in Washington state, had cautioned her about potential threats given the current political climate. You hear all this while these Columbia kids are being held, he said. What made this particular? The innovative social environment.
    Harsh conditions for confinement
Mooney described challenging circumstances that occurred while in ICE captivity. She and another inmates were shackled, fingerprinted, and subjected to invasive interrogations, including those looking into past suicides and sexual assaults. Additionally, she was required to perform a pregnancy test in an empty body setting.
The rooms are empty, and we had to urinate in open Dixie plates in the body, she said.
After speaking with KGTV in San Diego, her situation drew criticism from American officials. Premier of British Columbia, David Eby, criticized her confinement, calling it “reckless” and alert of the effect on cross-border relationships.
It is reckless, according to Eby, because of the damage this causes to the US economy through disrupted commerce, business connections, and skilled employees being turned away. This person needs to be returned to Canada as soon as possible.
    Deportation and a five-year restrictions
Hart was eventually released and transferred to an Air Canada trip to Vancouver after 12 days. Her roommate and her mother met her at the airport, who paid the$ 1,100 ticket price. She is currently subject to a five-year suspension from entering the US and intends to charm.
She said,” I love America.” I cherish my friends it. I adore the options I created and the life I was creating.
