I took a year away from Progressive Christianity Watch last year because it was so busy, but wait, what? We’re back, child. After all, there is plenty of heretic nonsense to discuss. And as much as I enjoy making fun of this absurdity, I even write this week’s column with a pinch of sadness. You’ll understand why.

Today, we’re going to start with a woman pastor ( shocker ) preaching a” sermon” about Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. The truth and redemption story in John 4 is strong. Then there is Rev. Liz Edman’s taking.
Liz Edman, an Anglican priest and political strategist who has been promoting gay life and Christianity for more than 25 years, is described on the website of the conference she attended. What LGBTQ People Know About Life and Love and How It Can Revive Christianity was a book by Edman.
In the book, she asserts,” Authentic Christianity is and must be homosexual”. This is information to two millennia of devoted followers, who are aware that sexuality is a sin and don’t just happen to be “queer.” ( I’ve already mentioned this, but my definition of “queer” is gay with an agenda. )
Edman is hung up on the term “queer” and she uses it all the time. And her interpretation of Jesus and the person at the well is, you guessed it, gay.
She refers to this conversation between Jesus and the person with a distribution that resembles an Elizabeth Warren talk and a bow that makes her seem like Pee Wee Herman:
Jesus said to her,” Go, call your husband, and come here”. The woman responded to him,” I have no father.” You are correct in saying,” I have no father,” because you have had five men and the one you currently have is not your partner, according to Jesus. What you have said is real”. The person responded to him,” Sir, I understand that you are a prophet. Although our parents worshiped on this mountain, you claim that people should worship in Jerusalem. Jesus said to her,” Lady, believe me, the hour is coming when either on this rock nor in Jerusalem did you adoration the Father. We adoration what we know, because the Jews are the ones who can save us. You worship what you don’t understand. The real pilgrims did then worship the Father in spirit and truth, but the Father is seeking for people to worship him because the minute is approaching and is now here. God is nature, and those who devotion him must worship in nature and truth”. The woman responded to him,” I know that the Messiah is coming ( he who is called Christ ).” When he arrives, he did inform us of everything. Jesus said to her,” I who speak to you am he”.

According to Edman,” This is a radical division-shattering moment.” ( Remember, progressive Christians adore calling Jesus “radical” ). ” They have only queered every part of cultural, sexual, and religious persecution that threatens to trap them against each other. He is revealing to her that God sees her. All of her bravery, bravery, and controversy. God sees her and she is exactly the person that God wants”.
The Son of God speaking to a homosexual person about her life’s circumstances and giving her a lot of knowledge is “queer,” in my opinion. Edman’s program reinforces this “queering” by allowing those who understand “queerness” to share the Gospel.
” We have the authority to do this simply by inviting people into this kind of queer, valiant, and empowering conversation”, she insists. ” Those of us who have an understanding for queerness bring such items to endure.” In some ways, we stand out for meeting some of the world’s most pressing moral requires today.
” We now know what it is to mix into unusual lands and stay down with people who have had experience and who have ideas that may be quite different from our own”, she continues. We have the guts to look into our own hearts, claim our names, and discover beauty and meaning in them. Knowing and valuing who you are makes it possible to win over some with trust.

I’m never certain what she’s talking about, but I do know it’s folly. I’d like to tell her of the terms of the Apostle Paul:
I find it astonishing that you are fast deserting him who gave you the grace of Christ and are now turning to a diverse gospel, no that there is another one, but there are some who want to denigrate the gospel of Christ. But let him be accursed perhaps if we or an angel from heaven should deliver a church to you that is contrary to what we have preached to you. As I was researching Liz Edman, I stumbled upon an Gay “ministry” that offers” Glitter Blessings“. Yes, I am aware that this sounds terrible. Glitter mingled with anointing fuel Ouch. Here is the justification for this absurd ploy.
- Gay people are told the rest that God hates them and that they are unable to be LGBTQ AND a man of trust.  , We know much! Not only do we know wonderful LGBTQ people of faith ( and are also clergy and faithful ourselves ), but we also know that God loves people, and maybe even more so! Those Companions of Dorothy ( code for wonderful LGBTQ people, you guessed it )!
- Glitter Blessings is an option for church, faith communities and every day, beautiful and loving people to share that love of God with LGBTQ individuals and friends.  ,
- The biodegradable rainbows glitter and the holy oil from Jerusalem, which has a gorgeous glass bottle, are available for you to share.  , Each bottle is shipped with passion and gifts to you, for your area.
- Generally, there is hatred toward LGBTQ people, especially in the public experience of Christianity. Thousands of Christians hold the view that the Gospel calls for us to love one another. Glitter gifts are a testimony to an equitable Christian message.

The Jerusalem Cross, the same image that was difficult as” Christian nationalism” when Pete Hegseth had it inked on his stomach, is featured in the” Glitter Blessings” brand. That’s intriguing.
This “ministry” also offers an alternative rite for non-religious individuals. I can’t come up with terms.
Oooh, Witchy Woman ( Pastor ), and One Woke Church Has Had Enough are among the other sites.
Let’s head north of the border, where another woman pastor ( shocker ) says a lot of words that don’t mean much, but you can tell that they’re heretical.
Rev. Although Mikiko Bown-Kai claims to get non-binary, she belongs to the United Church of Canada. Her Instagram page contains images of her wearing a helmet in 2025. She frequently uses the word “queer” in a film that features a priest’s shirt and ridiculous makeup.
What happens when we center gay and transgender experiences instead of centering the right or transgender experiences? she asks. The answer, of course, is that the” chapel” that emphasizes gay and transgender experiences offers a false, catholic church that revels in evil.
However, as I’m sure you are aware and continue to learn, the true nature of radical [there’s that phrase again ] hospitality that we learn through following Jesus Christ had become embodied by every aspect of the church, she continues. While there are laws in our church that allow some types of inclusion, In other words, she believes that the church needs to allow people wallow in their transgressions instead of calling for forgiveness.

She encourages her listeners to” a safe place and an accepting community” as she encourages them. That’s all well and fine, but she makes up for it. Well, the church is a” healthy place”, but Jesus wants those who come into the chapel to repent of their crimes. We affirm God’s glory in the chapel, not our wicked aspirations and ways of life.

It’s heartbreaking that democratic Christians twist the church to give people ways to rejoice in their sins rather than experiencing the freedom that forgiveness and new existence in Jesus offer. May these people come clean and alter their behavior.
