At the Pentagon, US defense secretary Pete Hegseth and technical tycoon and Expand head Elon Musk discussed ways to boost military innovation, efficiency, and manufacturing.
Hegseth called Musk a “patriot” after the meeting and referred to their common goal of bolstering the US government.
He afterwards described his extraordinary visit with Elon Musk at the Pentagon now on social media. I look forward to continuing our work up because he is a soldier. With the assistance of Elon and Doge, we can keep our defense as the best fighting power the world has ever had.
After some US press reports suggested he may be briefed on possible war tactics against China, Musk’s visit to the Pentagon sparked discussion. However, both Donald Trump and Hegseth, the president of the United States, refuted these statements, calling them “absurd” and “entirely misleading.”
Trump claimed that The New York Times was fabricating the tale, and that” China will not even be mentioned or discussed.” For his part, Musk demanded that the authorities he claimed had leaked “maliciously fake knowledge” to the press be charged with bringing the charges against them.
The conference covered a wide range of subjects related to military development during its length of only over an hour.
Hegseth refuted the claims of the China war, saying,” This is NOT a meeting about” top secret China war plans.” It’s a conversation about development, production efficiency, and smarter decisions.
Some lines are concerned about Musk’s business relationships to China, including SpaceX’s Pentagon agreements and Tesla’s Shanghai services. Trump made these points clear, saying,” You doesn’t discuss that with a business. He added,” I’m here for Doge, not China,” to make it clear that Musk was.
Trump told reporters in the Oval Office,” He’s there for Doge, not China,” and if you had brought up China, he might leave.
The tech mogul kept his answer short and said,” It’s always a great gathering. Musk has recently been to the Pentagon, with his most recent appearance being in 2016 when he met with then-defence minister Ash Carter.
