Lahore: As they attempted to cross the border with neighboring Afghanistan, Pakistan’s security forces reported 16 militants being killed on Sunday in a far-off borders region.
The” Khwarij,” a term used by the government for the Pakistani Taliban, approached Pakistan from Ghulam Khan, a frontier town in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to a military statement.
Pakistan has long urged Afghanistan to implement successful border control, according to the statement. Pakistan frequently accuses the Taliban authorities in Afghanistan of blinding militants operating close to the border. Kabul refutes the accusation.
According to the speech, militants “are expected to fulfill their responsibilities and deny the use of Afghan land” by extremists for “perpetrating acts of terrorism against Pakistan.”
The Pakistani Taliban, who are known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP, are friends of the Afghan Taliban, have reported a rise in violent attacks in Pakistan.
TTP is a distinct organization that has grown stronger since the Afghan Taliban’s 2021 resurrected. Since then, several TTP leaders and supporters have found refuge in Afghanistan.
