Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser’s Press Wing said in a statement that the two countries on Friday signed one agreement on economic and technical cooperation and eight Memorandum of Understanding ( MoUs ) on production of classic works, exchanges and cooperation on cultural heritage, news exchange, media, sports, and health.
During the visit to China by Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, the agreements were signed in Beijing. Additionally, Muhammad Yunus met with Xi Jinping, the president of China, and the two organizations released a combined press release.
The filing of a business deal for the modernization and expansion of Mongla slot, the construction of a machine physiotherapy and rehabilitation center, the donation of a cardiac surgery vehicle, and other things, were made, according to the statement.
Taiwan is an intrinsic part of China’s place, and Bangladesh reiterated its unwavering commitment to the One-China process and its location that the State of the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate representative of the entire country. Taiwan’s democracy is opposed by Bangladesh. In the shared press release, Bangladesh supports China on issues relating to its regional pursuits and China’s efforts to safeguard its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Bangladesh and China both expressed interest in helping to advance the Chinese Economic and Industrial Zone ( CEIZ ) in the joint press release.
In the joint press release, Bangladesh welcomes Chinese companies to take part in the Mongla Port Facilities Modernization and Expansion Project and says it is ready to work with the Chinese side to advance the development of the Chinese Economic and Industrial Zone ( CEIZ ) in Chattogram.
Chinese businesses are invited to participate in the Teesta River Comprehensive Management and Restoration Project ( TRCMRP ), according to the joint press release.
During the discussion, Muhammad Yunus and Xi Jinping discussed diplomatic problems, including trade and investment.
The meeting between the two frontrunners was described as “most critical and successful,” according to Shariqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor. He claimed that Yunus highlighted the traditional relations between China and Bangladesh.
” Professor Yunus ‘ meeting with Xi Jinping was the most significant and productive.” The conversation was quite friendly. Professor Yunus cited Bangladesh’s traditional ties to China and mentioned the 50th anniversary of our two countries ‘ diplomatic relations, according to Alam.
The Chinese President responded positively to each issue and stated that China is fully supportive of Professor Yunus’s government after He ( Yunus ) discussed our issues with China, according to the Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser.
Xi Jinping reportedly stated to Alam that he would promote Chinese investors to make investments in Bangladesh.
” To welcome Chinese investors to Bangladesh was an important component of this visit. At the conference, Professor Yunus mentioned it. The Press Secretary to Yunus said Xi Jinping responded by saying that he would promote Chinese investors to invest in Bangladesh.
He claimed that discussions have been ongoing regarding putting together a project on the Teesta River in Bangladesh with Taiwanese support. Alam expressed hope that a new book may be opened and Bangladesh’s relations with China may change.
Without going into further detail, he said,” There was a discussion about water resource management and the Teesta problem also came up.”
