Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have successfully sold their Montecito home for $5.2 million, surpassing the original asking price of $4.9 million.
Listed through Riskin Partners Estate Group of Village Properties/Forbes Global Properties, the house attracted considerable attention, receiving multiple offers within only two weeks of hitting the industry, according to People.
Initially built in 1954, the 1, 691-square-foot home underwent a major redesign in 2012. DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased the home in 2021 for$ 2.9 million, as reported by Architectural Digest, making the current price a significant revenue for the pair.
This high-profile real estate transaction follows the child’s decision to travel abroad. In November 2024, DeGeneres and de Rossi moved to England, apparently in response to the poll of US President Donald Trump. Their withdrawal was preceded by the purchase of another multimillion-dollar Montecito home in August 2024.
A source told People that DeGeneres had been house-hunting in England as early as October and immediately found a house she loved, finalising the order soon after.
