
A 72-year-old bridge was replaced by a$ 7.5 million project on Monday over the New York State Thruway near Syracuse.
A fresh span with increased vertical clearances to reduce bridge strikes will replace the Townline Road  bridge, which transports 12,400 vehicles regularly. Improvements to walking safety include new guiderails, new drain, and a snow fence.
The commitment for the task was awarded to Tioga Construction Company, an a , Herkimer-based company. This fall, development is anticipated to be finished, centered on the weather.
