The White House has dismissed at least three National Security Council ( NSC ) staffers after a meeting between President Donald Trump and far-right activist Laura Loomer, CNN reported.
Loomer, who has recently promoted conspiracy theories, urged Trump to remove various NSC people, including primary deputy national security advisor Alex Wong, alleging they were hostile. One cause told CNN the sackings were” a direct result of the conference with Loomer”.
The three dismissed authorities are Brian Walsh, chairman for knowledge and a former top aide to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Thomas Boodry, senior director for congressional interests and a former worker for National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and David Feith, senior director for systems and national security, who served in Trump’s first management.
” NSC doesn’t comment on employees things”, NSC official Brian Hughes said in a statement.
It remains unclear if Wong was among those dismissed. One cause speculated that Waltz may have been anxious to flame him, given his role in the controversy over leaked Signal information related to US martial attacks in Yemen.
Loomer has publicly questioned Wong’s loyalty, labelling him a” Never Trumper”. Following her Oval Office meeting, she declined to share details, saying,” Out of respect for President Trump and the privacy of the Oval Office, I’m going to decline on divulging any details about my Oval Office meeting with President Trump. It was an honor to meet with President Trump and present him with my findings”. She added that she would” continue working hard to support his agenda” and push for” strong vetting” to protect national security.
The meeting, first reported by The New York Times, took place while Trump was preparing to announce new tariffs in the Rose Garden. White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and presidential personnel head Sergio Gor were present, signalling it was a sanctioned discussion.
Gor, a close Trump aide, has been fielding concerns from MAGA allies about Waltz, adding to speculation about the motives behind the personnel shake-up.
