Hundreds of protesters across the United States are expected to take to the roads on Saturday in a planned opposition against the laws introduced by US President Donald Trump and billionaire businessman Elon Musk.
The” Hands Off”! activity, backed by more than 150 civil rights organizations, trade unions, LGBTQ+ activists, soldiers and fair-election politicians, has organised over 1, 200 demonstrations across all 50 states.
Big meetings are planned at the National Mall in Washington, DC, as well as at state cities and other important areas. The demonstrations aimed to oppose significant federal changes that critics believe had cost people their jobs and undermine legal rights and essential services.
Protesters are especially concerned about the president’s efforts to drop off thousands of national workers, nearby social security offices, arrest immigrants, decrease protections for transgender individuals and slice healthcare funding. There is also mounting uneasiness about what they describe as the “effective destroying” of complete government agencies.
Elon Musk, who is serving as brain of the recently formed department of government performance, became a key figure in the discussion. As the owner of Tesla, SpaceX and social media platform X, Musk has positioned himself as a reformer determined to cutting misuse and saving tax wealth.
He said that he is saving citizens billions of dollars.
Although demonstrations against Trump and Musk have erupted numerous times since Trump’s returning to the White House in January, few have yet reached the level of ancient presentations such as the 2017 Children’s March or the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020.
