Frito-Lay issued a voluntary recall of a limited amount of Tostitos taco chip luggage sold across 13 US states, warning that the meal may contain an undisclosed milk ingredient.
The remember applies especially to 13-ounce sacks of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips, which may have been inadvertently filled with nacho cheese tortilla chips. As a result, the goods may include butter, a potential danger for those with cheese allergies or sensitivities.
According to the business, less than 1, 300 bags are affected. The effected products have a UPC of 28400 52848 and a “guaranteed new” meeting of 20 May 2025, The Independent reported.
The cards were distributed to stores and online shops in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. They were available for purchase starting 7 March.
In a statement, Frito-Lay clarified that the product is safe to consume for persons without a cheese dermatitis. No allergic responses have been reported to day, CBS media reported.
The recall does not impact any other Tostitos materials, flavorings, bag sizes or multitude packs.
This marks the second allergen-related recognize by Frito-Lay in recent months. Back in November, the firm recalled a smaller sample of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips after discovering the presence of undeclared cheese, identified through a consumer report. That event was eventually classified by the FDA as a Category I recall, indicating a risk of serious health effects.
