The Trump presidency is looking for private contractors to expand its imprisonment activity by extending plans for a sizable expansion of its detention facilities across the country.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement asked vendors to submit plans for new facilities, protection, medical care, and other services for a$ 45 billion budget over the next few years in a recently listed ask for proposals.

The agreement request, which was listed last week in the New York Times, could lead to an even greater expansion of the White House’s effort to detain and eliminate millions of illegal immigrants from the country, a Trump campaign tenet.

According to the outlet, ICE, which had a total budget of nearly$ 10 billion this year, lacks the funds to pay off the$ 45 billion total.

But, Congress is considering giving the commissions that oversee immigration enforcement a expenditure increase of$ 175 billion over the next ten years, which would mean that the company may be receiving a bigger budget than it did previously.

ICE has far exceeded its ability to prosecute people across its services nationwide. According to its site, the organization had about 47, 900 people in custody as of late March, compared to the 41, 500 beds provided by Congress last season.
