After making a controversial remark about the United States borrowing money from” Chinese villagers,” China on Tuesday attacked US vice president JD Vance. He called him “ignorant and inappropriate.”
During a media briefing, Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, stated that” China’s position on China-US economic and trade ties has been made really clear.” He continued,” It is surprising and depressing to hear such illiterate and inappropriate words from this evil leader.”
Vance made the comment while speaking with Fox News about the Trump administration’s harsh trade policy, including the striking taxes that have stifled global markets.
Vance said in support of those procedures,” We borrow money from Chinese villagers to buy the things those Foreign farmers manufacture.”
That is not a guarantee of financial growth. He continued,” It’s certainly a recipe for low rates, and it’s not a recipe for good jobs in the United States of America.”
Trump has resisted calls to relax his trade plans, arguing that it will encourage international companies to relocate their products to the US.
Yet, many economists remain skeptical, voicing their disapproval of taxes and their potential negative effects.
