An American and two Russians were transported to the International Space Station on Tuesday when a Soyuz aircraft, decorated to honor the 80th commemoration of World War II’s finish, left Kazakhstan’s Baikonur Cosmodrome.
The launch was broadcast live from the Russian Roscosmos space agency’s ( MS-27 ) launch at 10.47 am local time ( 05 :47 GMT ). The aircraft set foot in orbit soon after and was set to make contact with the Russian portion of the ISS at 0904 GMT.
Soviet spacecraft Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky, along with Nasa astronaut Jonny Kim, made up the crew. Before their scheduled profit on December 9th, they will conduct 50 scientific studies in place.
Around 2,500 tourists were present at the start of the Roscosmos project in Baikonur, where Russia and Kazakhstan have a contract agreement dating back to the Soviet Union’s disintegration 43 years ago. Moscow is required to pay$ 115 million annually for the arrangement, which will run until 2050.

Following Russia’s war, European countries halted their Roscosmos alliances, but Soyuz vessels continue to provide important transportation to the ISS. Russian space program, which has historically been a national pride, is still plagued by issues like the Luna-25 solar probe’s disappointment in August 2023, including lack of funding, corruption, and other issues.
