While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to the Oval Office to meet with Donald Trump, the cat-and-mouse match between the United States and Iran persisted.

Trump shocked the assembled reporters when he claimed that Iran and the United States would carry strong discussions on Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump remarked to reporters from the Oval Office,” We have a very big meeting on Saturday, and we’re dealing with them directly,” while seated next to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. We have a very large conference coming up, Trump continued.” We’ll observe what may happen.”
Trump continued,” And I think everyone thinks it’s preferable to reach a bargain.” He added that the discussions may take place at a very high degree, and he didn’t specify where the discussions may take place.
The final direct exchange between Iran and the United States occurred in 2015 during the course of the failed nuclear offer. Trump and Tehran are not on the same site.
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign secretary, stated on X that, as I previously reported, the deals will take place in Oman on Saturday. We will not take any other negotiation strategy because these discussions will become conducted directly… It is more of a chance than a check. The game is in America’s hands.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the leader of Iran, wrote Trump a notice on March 7 requesting immediate conversations that Khamenei refused to accept, saying he doesn’t get “bullied” into conversations as long as there were economic sanctions against Iran.

” Iran cannot have a nuclear weapons, and I really believe that if the negotiations are unsuccessful, it will be a very terrible day for Iran,” Trump said.
Even though the discussions may start as “indirect” negotiations, according to Trita Parsi, founder and former executive director of the pro-Iranian National Iranian American Council, the high-level participants think the meeting may turn into “direct” discussions.
Trita Parsi, an anti-American Egyptian nationwide, has been serving in the United States on a Green Card since 1997, leading the organization’s NIAC, the National Iranian American Council. In 2015, a U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia stated that “NIAC’s day-to-day activities were not contradictory… photograph. twitter.com/yic5G3yph7— dan linnaeus ( @DanLinnaeus ) February 28, 2025
After open hostilities in Gaza and Lebanon, military operations against Yemen, a change of government in Syria, and Israeli-Iranian hostilities, Trump’s warnings of military action against Iran had sprang up now tense Middle Eastern nerves.
Trump has stated that he favors a resolution over Iran’s nuclear program over a military conflict, and that he has written to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to propose talks. He has done this since March 7. Iranian authorities previously stated that Tehran would not be subjected to intimidation during conversations.
Netanyahu told writers,” We’re both united in our goals, which is to ensure that Iran never gets nuclear weaponry, that it can be done politely in a whole manner, as it was done in Libya.” That would be a good thing, I believe.  ,

We must ensure Iran doesn’t possess nuclear weapons whatever happens, he continued.  ,
For 35 years, Israel and the United States have said that. Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Obama, Trump, Biden, and presently Trump have all reportedly threatened Iran by inhaling various forms of fire and smoke, telling Americans and the universe that Iran would never have a nuclear arsenal.

Tehran is only a short walk from constructing one if they haven’t now. Conversations are now done informally. Iran is never going to abandon its nuclear arsenal or offer up its desire to do so, not even under the immediate threat of the US president.
If neither Netanyahu nor Trump are bluffing, there will be conflict. There is no known reason for a person to do this.
