On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that two Chinese citizens who were fighting alongside Russian troops were detained and that Russian President Vladimir Putin has the power to intervene and no end the conflict.
Zelenkyy, who apparently is a Chinese national, said that Ukraine would ask Beijing for clarification and anticipate a response from allies regarding this development while sharing a video of one of the caught people.
Moscow and Beijing have strengthened their democratic, military, and economic relations since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
Two Taiwanese people who fought in the Russian troops were taken by our military, they said. This occurred in the Donetsk territory, on Ukrainian territory. They were discovered with identifying records, bank accounts, and personal information,” Zelenskyy said on social media.
” We have information that suggests that these two occupying models are home to many more Chinese citizens than just these two,” according to knowledge. He continued,” We are currently verifying all the facts; intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the relevant Armed Forces are working on it.”
Zelenskyy added that Putin intends to do anything but end the war by implication in Russia’s role in this conflict in Europe, whether directly or indirectly.
Contrary to American nations and the United States, China continues to be Russia’s significant political and economic partner despite maintaining its independence in the conflict and rejecting any aid from either side. Beijing has been referred to by NATO as a “decisive innovator” of Moscow’s war, which China has no condemned.
Despite numerous negotiations attempts to close the three-year turmoil, the US administration has been unsuccessful in finding a diplomatic solution.
The Kremlin’s main goals have been met, but Ukraine has repeatedly pressed Beijing to avert their conquest, which has resulted in numerous deaths and failed to accomplish.
Following an offensive launched in August of last year, Kyiv has faced difficulties maintaining its place in the Kursk region, where Russia has deployed several North Korean troops. Ukraine is pressing its European allies to respond.
