NEW DELHI: On Friday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed his satisfaction that Tahawwur Rana, one of the essential suspects in the 26/11 Mumbai 2008 attack, was extradited, along with India.
Tahawwur Hussain Rana was extradited to India to experience fees related to his involvement in the heinous terrorist attacks of 2008 in Mumbai. We have long sought righteousness for the 166 people who lost their lives in these problems, including 6 Americans, with India. Rubio posted on X,” I’m thankful that day has come.”
In a statement released by the US Department of Justice, Rana allegedly told Headley following the attacks that the Indians “deserved it” and praised the nine Lashkar-e-Taiba ( LET ) terrorists who perished in the assault, suggesting that Pakistan’s highest military honor, the Nishan-e-Haider, should be given their full respect. These allegedly were made during the two’s seized conversations.
Rana is charged with conspiracy to commit the 2008 terror attacks that allegedly claimed 166 life in Mumbai. Rana, a past member of the Pakistan Army’s health army and immigration expert, is accused of facilitating the problems by providing administrative assistance to his childhood friend and co-conspirator, David Coleman Headley.
According to the National Investigation Agency, Tahawwur Rana is accused of planning a number of other narratives similar to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, which were intended to target several American places. ” His ( Rana ) prolonged custody was deemed necessary to facilitate a thorough interrogation aimed at uncovering deeper layers of the conspiracy,” he said. The NIA is believed to have informed the prosecutor, citing a resource who said that we believe the strategies used in the Mumbai strikes were intended for murder as also, prompting investigators to investigate whether identical plots were developed elsewhere.
A prison van, an armored District vehicle, and an ambulance were all present when Rana was taken to court.
Following the completion of the needed legal processes in the US, NIA officials arrived in India on Thursday with Rana.
Following the US Supreme Court’s rejection of Rana’s last attempt to avoid abduction, this development emerged. The 64-year-old was formerly incarcerated at Los Angeles ‘ Metropolitan Detention Center.
