The NYPD confirmed on Thursday that the person who was film sucker-punching a pro-life columnist during a city meeting in Harlem has been arrested.
Savannah Craven Antao, a 23-year-old columnist for Live Action, was attacked by Brianna J. Rivers, 30, who is now facing a second-degree rape charge, according to the New York Post.
Last year, during a “man-on-the-street” meeting on pregnancy and planned parenting, an altercation occurred. After a cooked discussion about contraception solutions and foster care, the conflict grew.
Rivers reportedly begins to yell a series of blows at Craven Antao’s experience, leaving her with injuries that required stitches and blood streaming down her face.
Rivers said,” You don’t understand the magnitude of having a child,” moments before the attack. Streams abruptly cut the conversation little by provoking a violent outburst when Craven Antao challenged her position.
Then she yelled a crass remark at Craven Antao’s father, who was filming the meeting.
On Instagram, Craven Antao wrote:” Only got expression from police Brianna J. Rivers was arrested! God is a good man. She also added hashtags for# JusticeIsServed and# BlueLivesMatter.
River claimed she was provoked by the growing online censure she received. Savannah, I respectfully regret, but I can’t sit back and let you continue to push this one-sided narrative, she wrote. Throwing rocks and concealing hands is worse, she continued,” I understand that having hands on one is never the truth.”
Despite her explanation, River was detained by the NYPD on Thursday night.
She was allegedly scheduled to be arraigned later that afternoon, according to court documents. River has also set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for legal expenses, which had raised$ 8, 695 at the time of publication.
Since the invasion, Craven Antao has publicly pleaded for justice and River ‘ comfort. In an interview, she had stated that while we want fairness, we also want to beg for this person because she is clearly going through something much deeper.
