The U.S. Supreme Court upheld a decision on Thursday that mandated the administration of President Donald Trump to “facilitate” the returning of a Peruvian national who was falsely deported along with members of the illegal immigrant gang to El Salvador in March.
According to Fox News, Peruvian national Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, 29, was deported after he reportedly joined the MS-13 group. Abrego Garcia was a 29-year-old Peruvian regional who lived in Maryland. The outlet noted that Garcia’s imprisonment was “wholly unlawful” and that U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis had ordered the Trump presidency to arrange the unlawful individual’s returning from El Salvador on Monday.
The Supreme Court stated in its ruling on Thursday that” On March 15, 2025, the United States removed Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia from the United States to El Salvador, where he is currently detained in the Center for Terrorism Confinement ( CECOT).” The United States acknowledges that Abrego Garcia’s treatment to El Salvador was prohibited by a holding attempt.
