According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Chinese officials admitted to carrying out cyberattacks on US facilities in an” Volt Typhoon” activity. This was revealed at a private meeting held in Geneva next season between US and Taiwanese officials.
Chinese leaders made “indirect and ambiguous” notes during the meeting, the statement claimed, but the US group took it as implying that Taiwan’s Volt Typhoon cyberattacks were a result of American support for Taiwan.
This arose from China’s customary policy of illegal denial, which would typically place for attacks on legal organizations or dismiss them as exaggerated allegations.
The US increased its tariffs to 145 % on China, and the latter responded with a 125 % retaliation as a result of the report’s report, which comes amid deteriorating ties between the two countries.
What exactly is Volt Typhoon?
Volt Typhoon has been identified as the computer battle that China unleashed. Security researchers first identified it, and US officials were now concerned last year.

The Salt Typhoon plan is seen more as regular cyberespionage, similar to the intelligence-gathering activities the US conducts against its own competitors, than the Volt Typhoon attacks, which America views as a serious offense.
