Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, is accused of being responsible for “millions” of murders in the continuous Russian invasion of Ukraine, and US President Donald Trump on Monday rebuffed that claim. Trump placed Zelenskyy alongside former US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin in comment to investigators, claiming that all three were to blame for the violence that had erupted since the conflict broke out in February 2022.
During a meeting with El Salvador’s leader, Trump said,” There were millions of people dying because of three people.” Let’s consider Putin number one, but also Collins, who was clearly unaware of his actions, range two, and Zelenskyy.
The Republican president criticized Zelenskyy’s defense strategy farther and kept making demands for European weapons. Trump criticized Ukraine’s defense work, saying,” He’s often looking to purchase weapons. When you start a conflict, you must be certain that you can get it. You don’t launch a warfare against a person who is 20 times your length and then hope that others will fire you some weapons.
In recent months, conflicts between Trump and Zelenskyy have heightened, specially following a television broadcast of an Oval Office fight on February 28. Trump had frequently echoed Kremlin talking points prior to that appointment, calling Zelenskyy a “dictator without votes” and blaming Kyiv for starting the issue.
Trump has refocused his speech despite Zelenskyy’s attempts to reestablish relationships, including sending a group to Washington last week to explore a proposed materials offer. However, the US senator asserted that a resolution was still possible.
” I want to quit the dying, and I think our situation is going also.” I believe you’ll have some excellent ideas very soon, he said.
His remarks came after a fatal Russian missile attack on Sunday in Sumy, eastern Ukraine, that left at least 35 people dead, making it one of the most fatal attacks of the conflict. Trump called the attack a “mistake,” but he did not provide any more information. Russian officials maintained that a conference of the Russian army’s leaders had been targeted by its missiles.
Zelenskyy urged Trump to travel to Ukraine and observe personally the damage that the war had caused, in a CBS interview that aired on Sunday.
