Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s highest leader, said he was “neither profoundly enthusiastic about the deals nor profoundly pessimistic” about the recent nuclear talks with the US. He added, nevertheless, that things “went well” during the discussions.
He claimed that” we don’t hold the conversations in such high spirits or have a negative outlook” He noted that Iran continued to hold the United States in suspicion despite the fact that the first stages of the discussions had been successful.
He furthermore advised officials against too strongly fusing the country’s affairs with the deals, which are scheduled to begin with a second round on Saturday.
On Monday, conversations between Tehran and the two countries appeared to be moving out of the Middle East, with an Italian origin and others indicating that the next large would take place in Rome. Iran, however, asserted by early on Tuesday that Oman would also host the approaching discussions.
