    More than 20 people were killed and values of others were injured when Russian missiles struck the city of Sumy, according to Ukraine. Weeks later, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin met to discuss ending the conflict.

    On Palm Sunday night, according to the state’s local administration, two ballistic missiles struck the city’s center in northeastern Ukraine.

    According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on social media, at least 34 people were killed and 117 were hurt, including kids. As many people were out on the roads and traveling in cars and using public transportation, as the weapon attacks occurred.

    According to Andriy Yermak, a top secretary to Zelenskyy, at least one of the missiles had cluster munitions in order to reduce deaths, at least one of the weapons were equipped with this. Russia’s Kursk and Voronezh regions fired the missiles that were responsible for its most deadly attack of 2025, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of the country’s military intelligence company, on Telegram.

    The weapons were reportedly Iskander-M/KN-23 short-range nuclear missiles supplied by North Korea, which is believed to have been since soon 2023.

    ” The world may answer strongly,” says the author. Zelenskyy said on social media that “everyone in the world wants this battle and these murders to stop” and that this includes the United States, Europe, Europe, and everyone in the world. Russia “wants exactly this kind of despair and is dragging this combat away,” she said.

    The city’s weapon assault occurred on the day Christians celebrated the start of Holy Week. Only days later, President Donald Trump increased pressure on Russia in his effort to secure a ceasefire in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

    Trump had lamented the death toll from the battle, which is now in its third season, on Friday on his social media platform that” Russia has to get moving.” Witkoff, who has played a crucial role in Trump’s efforts to put an end to the preventing, traveled to St. Petersburg on the same day as his second meeting with Putin.

    Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, claimed the discussions with the U.S. minister were” an additional step” in the direction of a meeting between Trump and Putin, which he said would take place in “due time,” even though preparing was still required.

    Peskov claimed in an interview that the U.S.-Russian speech was “really well,” but that it was difficult to bring relations back from virtually nothing, excerpts of which were posted Sunday by state TV reporter Pavel Zarubin.

    Following discussions in Saudi Arabia and the United States last month, discussions on a ceasefire have stalled. Trump predicted he may reach a deal soon after his inauguration in January. Russia&nbsp is requesting the synchronization of one of its largest condition banks to the SWIFT foreign messaging system, which is under the purview of the European Union, as a prerequisite for accepting a&nbsp, U.S. brokered ceasefire in the&nbsp, Black Sea.

    Zelenskyy stated on Telegram,” This is the next quarter that Putin has been ignoring the U.S. plan for a total and absolute ceasefire.” ” However, there are in Moscow and the rest of the world who are convinced they can continue to murder with impunity,” they said.

    Ukraine and Russia have filed lawsuits against one another for violating a 30-day ban on strikes against energy system, which is scheduled to expire on April 18;

    At least 20 people were killed, including nine children, in the recent attack by&nbsp, Russia&nbsp, on Sumy, which came after one earlier in the month on Kryvih Rih in Zelenskyy’s hometown of central&nbsp, Ukraine.

    Separately, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that it had shot down a Russian F-16 fighter aircraft. Authorities are looking into what had happened, according to Zelenskyy on Saturday, in the next publicly known example of losing that type of aircraft along with its captain since August, in which the 26-year-old pilot died in combat.

    With 78 drones flying over the course of the previous day, the region’s government, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported on his Telegram route, Ukraine’s forces attacked Russia’s Belgorod area, which is located just over the regions ‘ border.
