According to Ahsan Tasnim, a delegation from Bangladesh’s Nationalist Party ( BNP ), which is widely predicted to win the upcoming national elections, met with chief adviser Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday in a “fruitless effort.”
The BNP’s Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir reacted to Yunus ‘ repeated assertion that polls would be held between December and June of next year by saying,” We are not at all satisfied… the political, economic, and social situation will turn the worse if the election is not held by December.”
A part of the Yunus leadership stated that the government is committed to prosecuting Hasina’s government for killing protesters in the weeks leading up to its ouster and implementing some important reforms before polls begin.
