Trump, president of the United States, gave his backing to his decision to withdraw from discussions over a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, giving mass to earlier recommendations made by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Trump, however, insisted at the White House that a bargain could still be reached, provided that both sides are really working toward a solution.
The senator remained unwavering in his assertion that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was no “playing” him, as the president has claimed.
Nobody is playing any kind of game. After swearing in Mehmet Oz as the superintendent of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Trump said Friday day,” We are going to see if we can get it done. ” I believe we have a very good chance of getting it done,” he said.
Rubio earlier on Friday expressed concern that if there weren’t any tangible signs of progress in the coming weeks, the United States may “move on” from peace deals.
After meeting with Russian and German officers in Paris, France, Rubio declared,” We’re not going to proceed with this mission for weeks and months on close.” We need to know quite quickly, and I’m talking about a matter of time, whether or not this is feasible in the coming months.
Trump affirmed Rubio’s position, but he continued to refrain from saying he may withdraw from the talks.
When asked how many times he may allow for dialogue, Trump responded,” No certain number of days, but we want to get it done quickly.” We’re only going to say you’re dumb, you’re fools, you’re horrible people, if one of the two parties makes it very difficult for some reason. And we’re going to really get a move. But we should ideally not be required to accomplish that.
” Many people are being killed playing video games,” the statement read. So we’re not going to, we won’t accept that,” Trump added. ” I believe we have a great chance of resolving the issue,” he said.
When asked suddenly, the senator declined to say that he would leave the table of negotiations.
Trump said,” Well, I don’t want to say that, but we want to see it stop.”
Trump reiterated that development could still be made and that he hoped Putin would not stifle the peace negotiations.
Trump said,” My entire life has been one great dialogue, and I know when individuals are playing us and when they aren’t,” adding that. And I must sense a desire to end it. And I believe I can sense that joy. I believe I can see it from both directions.
Vice President JD Vance even made a statement of support for a deal earlier on Friday while visiting Italy.
” We believe we have some interesting items to report on, of course, in secret.” We do feel,” I won’t prejudice the discussions, but we do feel, optimistically,” Vance said as he met with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Friday in Rome.
