A stray shot struck a 21-year-old Indian pupil as she waited at a bus stop on her way to work, and Harsimrat Randhawa was shot in Hamilton, Ontario.
When the shooting happened on Wednesday evening ( local time ), Randhawa, a student at Mohawk College, was a defenseless bystander. After being rushed to the hospital, she died from a gunshot wound to the neck.
According to The Spec, Randhawa was enrolled in Mohawk College’s occupational therapy assistant/physiotherapy associate system.
We are deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Harsimrat Randhawa, said Mohawk College spokesman Sean Coffey in a statement.
Near Upper James Street and South Bend Road, the shooting took place about 7:30 p.m. A customer in a dark Mercedes SUV reportedly fired at the bright sedan’s passengers. Both cars fled the scene in various directions following the gunshots. A stray shot struck Randhawa while he was waiting for the bus.
Police in Hamilton confirmed that Randhawa was an honest victim of the gunshots and was not involved in the encounter. The rear window of a local residence on Allenby Avenue, where people were watching tv, was also destroyed by the same pictures. No one was hurt inside the house, though.

Anyone with information from the intersections of Upper James and South Bend Roads between 7:15 am and 7:45 p is asked to come forward with it to help with the ongoing investigation.
