If you think lawmakers make outlandish claims, regard what Christians celebrate at Easter.
They believe a person named Jesus was cruelly tortured, murdered, and buried for three days before rising from the dead. However, they assert this gentleman was likewise thoroughly God and that your idea or lack of belief in him determines your eternal life.

Catholics have no video information or DNA tests to prove this. That’s understandable since Christians say the event Easter enjoys took place about 2,000 years before.
American can’t even agree on things that happened two weeks ago. Isn’t Spring an old example of “fake information,” a misconception propagated by people putting faith over traditional realities?
It’s a legitimate problem. The solution starts with looking at the books of the New Testament. How can you identify if what you read now is what the author wrote 2,000 years ago?
That issue isn’t exclusive to the Bible. There are no original editions of any old work. Researchers use a two-fold test to determine how exactly copyists transmitted a text throughout the years. Scientists look at how many files exist and the number of years between the classic and the earliest surviving version.
For instance, Julius Caesar fought and won a series of fights against the Gauls from 58 to 50 B. C. He chronicled his wars in On the Gallic War. Researchers have 251 documents of this guide, and the earliest is from the 9th century, a distance of over 850 times.
Plato was one of the most significant historical thinkers. He wrote a series of discussions before he died in 348/347 B. C. Scientists have 210 documents of those writings. The oldest is from 895 A. D. , a distance of over 1,200 times.

The books of the New Testament were written between 50 and 100 A. D. There are around 5,800 New Testament documents in Greek and over 18,500 New Testament documents in different languages. The time difference between author and the earliest text is only 50 years. All figures are from a 2014 assessment by Josh McDowell and Clay Jones.
Consider telling a story doctor that there isn’t enough factual evidence to confirm Julius Caesar conquered the Gaels or that Plato wrote idea. Yet there is a far greater track record for the exact transmission of the ebooks depicting the living, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
An appropriate transmission doesn’t think what is written is correct. The Iliad is, after all, a work of fiction. A crucial group, however, did consider the activities recorded in the works that became the New Testament– its authors. Some even directly emphasized that their works were trustworthy and accurate audio. It wasn’t just empty speak. Their behavior changed, to.

Jesus ‘ disciples abandoned him when he was arrested. Within months, however, those fools became strong preachers of a biblical information that would transform the world. They didn’t speak to get wealthy. Instead, their preaching led to incarceration and deaths.
Faith doesn’t have to suggest turning off your head. Instead, having trust can be the phase one takes based on the evidence, including the historical records of an unoccupied monument.
