US President Donald Trump on Sunday said Russia and Ukraine was reach an agreement” this week,” perhaps to end their battle of more than three times. He even said the two competitors had finally accomplish “big business” with the United States and “make a wealth. “
” Hopefully Russia amd ( sic ) Ukraine will make a deal this week. Both may then begin to do huge company with the United States of America, which is growing, and make a huge fortune! ” Trump posted to his Truth Social channel.
Nevertheless, he did not share information of any progress in peace deals Washington has sought to press forward between Moscow and Kyiv, since he took over from Joe Biden in January.
The US government’s Truth Social post comes just weeks after his secretary of state, Marco Rubio, warned that Washington was “move on” from its force to broker an agreement to end the conflict, which began in February 2022.
” We need to find out these now within a matter of time whether this is feasible in the short term, because if it’s not, then I think we’re just going to move on,” Rubio said on Friday in Paris, after high-level conversations with German and Russian officials.

“We’re not going to proceed with this venture for weeks and months on end. So we need to decide quite fast now, and I’m talking about a matter of times whether or not this is feasible in the next few months. If it is, we’re in. If it’s not, then we have other interests to focus on as well, ” he added.
Work by both Rubio and Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff have included multiple rounds of discussions in Saudi Arabia and at least three sessions between Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin. But, Moscow has so far refused a complete peace proposed by Trump and supported by Ukraine, demanding Kyiv end military mobilisation and American arms supplies, situations rejected by Ukraine.

During his presidential election campaign, the MAGA head had pledged he may end the war “within 24 hours of taking business. ” He afterward said a deal may occur by April or May. But talks have dragged amid escalating disputes, including a common spat at the White House in February, with Trump and his vice president JD Vance on one side, and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the other side.
