The Department of Defense declared a 60-foot-wide territory of New Mexico area that runs along the U. S. -Mexico boundary is now piece of Arizona’s Fort Huachuca. The shift allows the Army’s U. S. Northern Command more powers to pin unlawful immigrants on military place, according to a Defense click release on Monday. U. S. Northern Command is the defense ’s operational guide to carry out President Donald Trump’s professional commands targeting illegal immigration at the U. S. -Mexico borders.
“Through these superior regulators, U. S. Northern Command will ensure those who illegally breach in the New Mexico National Defense Area are handed over to Customs and Border Protection or our various law enforcement partners, ” Gen. Gregory Guillot, USNORTHCOM chief, said in a speech. “Joint Task Force-Southern Border will carry enhanced monitoring and supervising, which will include aircraft and foot patrols, circular wing, and fixed surveillance site operations. ”
Now that the change is being made, Army soldiers will be allowed to further enable U. S. Customs and Border Protection in patrolling their locations and prevent any unlawful action at the border.

When notified by soldiers, Border Patrol agents will assault whomever has been detained by the Army, a CBP director told a local media store.
The latest development of the Army’s power comes as part of Trump’s executive order allowing the defense to hold open area spanning three border state in a bid to advance his presidency ’s crackdown on illegal border crossings.

The open area to get handed over “for the use and control by the Department of Defense” includes the Roosevelt Reservation, which borders Mexico and covers pieces of Arizona and New Mexico.
The area today declared by the DOD to be part of Fort Huachuca was part of the Roosevelt Reservation.
